heh, in 2007 intel gets da 45nm... that pretty much means pc gpus won't be manufactured in a more advanced process(then the consoles) until late 2007 or early-mid2008 at the earliest.
Of course unlike console chips, pc gpus can't push the 65nm to the bleeding edge and take a loss per chip, not to mention their payments to the foundries, and their lower production(which limits them further).
Most likely those won't offer a significant jump in quality over the consoles... and it'll probably take 1-2yrs before software that makes full use of their full abilities is released... IOW it seems that even in best case scenarios they'll only be able to equal consoles in the gphx dept., in the eyes of most gamers, this coming console cycle...
