This has been debated to hell and back. A hundred times. There are even threads (notice the plural) on the first page treating the same topic. Not like they're useful, they're mostly arguments based on speculation.
A more interesting thread would be a poll where everyone could vote and state their prediction for the peak FLOPS count of the Cell processor used in the PS3.
(Ill stick to the one I made many many moons ago out of principle, 200 GFLOPS. Slightly optimistic at the time, slightly pessimistic now with the PS3 looking to ship later and process technology roadmaps having been slightly accelerated. Cant really justify that, it is not that I dont have reasoning behind it ... but it is "fuzzy" reasoning (which IMO is the only way to reason when you have to make as many assumptions as we have to, but if you feel more comfortable applying ASIC scaling rules of thumb and such have a ball).
Too many people willing to attack others people's guesses without putting their own predictions out there to be laughed at at a future date
