The house smelt like burnt copper.

Everytime my brother tried to reconect the power lead into the modem, electrical sparks would fly and it would make a strange but loud noise. It didn't sound safe and when we did place the power plug into the modem it would constantly turn on/off. So we disconected it and today we have a newer modem.

I now have a newer model (SB4200) compared to my older (SB4100) model.

I wasn't anywhere near it. My brother was first playing around with the power cable and then it eventually started out very small but over a few days it became much worse.
