I live in the US and have had Tekken 5 for a couple of weeks. It is indeed a fantastic-looking game. I wouldn't say it looks on par with a high-end Xbox game - but it's definitely one of the prettiest games on PS2.
Buy it and enjoy. There's a lot to like about this one.
