GT 4 Q4 2003

Which region is this release for? I'm sure all the past GT games have been released in Japan about 6months before UK and USA? I'm sure GT4 has yet to be released in Japan, so can we expect GT4 in the UK, rest of Europe or America before Christmas?

I believe that Sony recently confirmed in ECTS (European Computer Trade Show)that GT4 will be released this year in europe.
That would almost certainly mean that Jap and us versions are released either before or the launch will be more or less simultaneous.

But who knows, maybe they have decided to release it first in Europe, considering this time european cars will be featured quite heavily.

Hopefully the online part will still be there.
If the following is true conserning Capcom and RE:Outbreak (from Magicbox)
Capcom is considering releasing Resident Evil Outbreak for PS2 in Europe without online support, the game may be presented with only offline modes. The reason is due to technical problems on the difference between the network systems used in Europe and the other two territories.
then it is not given that what is online game elsewhere, is not necessary online in europe.
But I'm sure Sony knows the online demands and problems better than Capcom.

I was at the Playstation Experience, yesterday. (My impressions are coming shortly.)

If the demo I played was anything near what is going to be released then I am not surprised that it will be out so soon.

After 20 mins of play, I was convinced that the graphics engine was identical to the one used GT Concept. There may have been some improvements but I was not able to discern them. Also, with such a sort time with the game it was difficult to tell if the AI had been improved.

GT4 felt like GT2. The same as GT1 but with many more cars.

I hope I am wrong and that GT4 arrives with a stonking new graphics engine, but I will be surprised if it does.

Well I already have BroadBand on my PC and if there is not decent On-line play in GT4 I see no other reason to purchase the Network Adapter. And if GT4 does not offer any substatual improvments over GT3 appart form the cars I won't buy it either, and i've been waiting for GT4 with great anticipation for AGES! I've probably played GT3 more than any other game on PS2 or PC (excluding CS).

ERRR..... releasing GT4 with a completely new engine from the one they are using now? somehow i do not think that will happen.

I'd consider buying GT4 if it has the Bugatti Veyron 16-4 included... MMMM. If I were to ever own a car, that would be the one I'd want.

*G*

Grall, I'm not sure but I think the Veyron is in the game. I can't remember where I read it or even if I just conjured it up in my crazy imagination.

Anyway, what tracks did you get to play on Nick?

New York, Grand Canyon & Suzuki. There were 3(?) others available. I believe it was the same demo as they had at E3.

I'm a GT fan so I will be getting the game on release. But in terms of bragging rights, I think the Xbox owners are going to have them after PGR2 is released. The game I played yesterday did not look any better than GT Concept (which I admit looks pretty sweet).

Did they demo'd the online-mode?
How were the physics? Compared to GT3?

See, i was right about the GT:C thing. :)
GS has been saying that the samey ol rubberband AI is still as present as ever... :? I hope they do good work on the online component.

It is not as if PD can't implement real time damage system in GT4, but then you will have to forget about these licenced cars. And if damage is not there then you will invariably have rubber-band AI pretty much like Ridge Racer series.
