I want to pick up a cheap/good mobo for Bubbles to run my barton 2500+ on. I
Recomends?

I have the best mobo that cheapness can buy. I have the Abit NF7. It cost me a total of $62 (with S&H). It includes an incredible amount of options for the price (6 USB 2.0, ata133, ddr333, 333 fsb, 8 AGP, onboard Gigabye ethernet). It doesn't have all the features of say the dfi lan party, but u said u wanted cheap, and this is pretty cheap. I have it running my barton 2800 and 1 crucial 1x512 pc2700 ram. My 9800xt loves this board. Again, not the most feature laden, but u sounded like u cared more about price and performance then bells and whistles.

ABit NF7 all the way. Same perfomanace as the ABit NF7-S, just less features and less price

Well happy news, the FedEx man delivered the NF7-S rev 2.0 5 minutes ago. 8)

Time to take a break from reading reviews for a while.

Get a DFI nforce2 board. Either the Lanparty or the Ultra400 (if you're on a lower budget). Both boards have received great ratings and overclock well.

Uhm, I already got the NF7-S. I'm sitting here finally getting a chance to open the box since me wife went to sleep. (I still haven't told her I got it yet... )

I'm just noticing this "Serillel" adapter thingy, which if I'm reading right is supposed to allow my IDE ATA133 HD use the ATA serial cable? Will that actually speed it up or is it just a gimmick? (Also, does it work?)

EDITED BITS: Never mind, I actually read about it...gads am I an idiot! I think I'll wait until after a nights sleep to put it in, but it looks damned good! 8)
