Good space RTS?

Well it's in Early Access as a beta. Are the Galactic Civ games good?

Gal Civ II is mighty if you ask me. Best space 4x game I've played (and I'be been trying to play as much games as I could find from this genre )

Though there are many similarities with Civ 4-5, I think it's a game that rewards you more for creative strategies. And it's in space, which is a huge selling point for me.

As for GalCiv III, have the beta installed, played 10 mins and then decided to wait until it's released. Looks like nothing substantially more, just a polished GalCiv II - and that is fine by me.
