Gmail password recovery

hello guys!

My problem is that I lost my gmail password. Tried to get it back from gmails "forgotten password" service, but because I don't have an alternative email there, it says that 5 days should pass in order to get to the proocedure to change the password - the secret question thing, you know.

Are there any freeware utilities to help me recover this lost password? I still have gmail notifier running and getting mails for this account...and I need to respond to some of these mails!

Please if anyone can help I'd be in debt!
Thanks!

Did you let GMail Notifier remember it? If so, in Mozilla/Firefox:

Tools -> Options -> Security -> Show Passwords.

Look for the entry chrome://gm-notifier/.

I used an asterisk reader program (notifier asks for ok to login and shows asterisks in the position of the password, when windows start up) and found the password a few minutes ago!
Thanks for the response anyway! :D

A program like that working should be taken as a hint to set a master password in Firefox. Otherwise your information is stored in plain text, which is best to be avoided[*]. Set it in the options dialog mentioned above.

[*]Unless you can't remember any passwords that is. Then, even the one will be one too many... ;)
