At a presentation today, Chunsoft announced details on their forthcoming GBA game, "Siren Monsters Netsal", and their summer GC game, "Homeland". Surprisingly, "Homeland" has been announced to have network support, and the game package will include two discs - one for offline play and one for online play.
When using the network disc, there is no charge for play, and instead of connecting to a server, the user's Gamecube becomes the server and other players connect to it. Players who start a server in this fashion do not play the game directly, instead they can view the status of players, spawn monsters and events, with a "Godly" style of play. Full details about this mode are still unknown, but basically it appears to be the same as the standalone version, playable in short bursts. Each user's server is planned to hold 30 players.
