Gigli! :)

In all honesty when I first saw the poster I thought it was saying "Jiggly," and pronounced it as such for a while in front of my friends and family. The found it quite hilarious.

I can't imagine another way to pronounce Gigli other than jiggly.

Of course, for some strange reason, it's pronounced jeely. (like jelly with a long e)

Well, I don't have the slightest idea who or what Gigli is (and I know that might embarass myself admitting that), but the reason could be that the word is of Italian origin. Then the pronounciation would make sense.

Its a name. Of italian origin.

I still wouldn't (as an american) even begin to fathom it was Jeely.

dont plan on watching the movie, but what could have attracted them to the movie? was the script that good?

Ben Affleck and Jay Lo are engaged in real life and they thought starring in a movie together would get them good publicity

oh no, I hope I'll never need to see this 'Gigli'
Afflec was (or looked) 'good' in that asteroid movie, Lopez fit well in 'Cell' visuals, neither of them have real screen charisma.
Is this going to be another 'the latest Madonna movie, which name I cannot remember, but it was directed by his husband' flop :?

actually they were not an item at the time of filming, they only got together later. The movie where they were an item off the screen while filming is Jersey Girl. A movie coming out later this year.

they met and sparks flew during filming of this travesty AFAIK...

currently ranking as one of the biggest flops ever... likely to recoup money through video and television deals I spose :(

nothing worse than having to watch crud of cable that WE pay for...

sad... really... :(

they have both said that they were not an item during the filming of this movie. You are thinking of jersey girl.

later,

Nope, Jersey Girl was pulled back til 2004. Some people say it's because this Gigli movie but the real reason is because the new Matrix was going to be coming out the same day. At least Jersey Girl is a Kevin Smith movie, I wonder how Affleck got him to do a movie with him and J. Lo.

But the movie seems to be doing surprisingly well in imdb: http://us.imdb.com/Title?0299930 ;)
This movie can not be the worst of all time, imdb has stated that current movies can sometimes skew their system purely because more people will vote for it. Like LOTR, although one of my favorite movies, I cannot see it being better than some of the classics, like the godfather or shawshank redemption. ;)

One thing that will always remain true in reference to hollywood the title "worst of all time" will be one that is short lived.
