Oh great, the "let's hate on F5 circle jerk" again. Why does it not surprise me?

This just like the "dinner" crap from Kojima, except I don't see anyone hating on him for that

Kojima said he wasn't making MGS on xb360 because it didn't have HDMI? Or he wouldn't have dinner without HDMI?:???:

Seriously this guys statements are just rediculous.

At the time when Kojima said the dinner analogy it was his philosophy based on what he knew about the systems at the time and how he would be treating them. I still have yet to have my monthly xb360 dinner with Kojima btw. :devilish:

Oh great, the "let's hate on F5 circle jerk" again.

oh great, the "Lets defend totally ridiculous comments because he's making a game for my system" group orgy again ;)

Come on, a spade is a spade, this guy talks absolute nonsense, I don't care what system he's working on. Kojima is much more honest than this guy on his best day.

The point is that your once again making a storm out of a glass of water. Oh, so he likes HDMI! Let's now totally ignore everything he says becuase of that small nitpick. Give me a break.

Kojima just said what dinner would be like; he didn't say that he'd be cooking. ;)

Kojima said something like how often dinner would happen something along the lines of: Wii is like a meal you have everyday, xb360 is a nice meal once a month and ps3 is a special dinner you have once a year.

I know he had another quote more recenty but I don't recall what it was.

This monthly, yearly, daily analogy is a bit insulting but at least it was said at a time when not enough was known about the systems to properly judge the comments. If they were said now, they would be judged more harshly or thrown into the "Japanese doesn't translate well to english" basket.

Aside from HDMI and 1080p, it's true that without a motion sensor Lair would be a different game experience.

Sure, it's also true that development was well underway using the thumbsticks before they ever got confirmation of the 6axis.

Woohooo! Here we go again!

How about that Blu Ray capacity, folks!!?? Metal Gear on XBox oh yeah!! 360's self-destructing and 600 dollars!! NOW THIS THREAD'S A PARTY!!!!

If we could all do our little part to keep these subjects isolated to their own shitty threads... we'd have a nicer forum for it.

Sure, it's also true that development was well underway using a keyboard on a computer before they ever got confirmation of the 6axis.

What, you blame them for having a backup plan as well as something to work with while they were waiting for the controllers? Or even make an effort to make sure the sixaxis controls were actually better? I personally think it's very good that they still made some parts analog stick control, because that just really worked better in that context (for instance on the ground).

They always said that they were hoping and pushing for motion control from day one, but planned for the possibility of motion control not making it.

I certianly don't think it was reason one. Nobody uses bad press to throw off thier competition. I think you forgot #5.

5.) They never intended to include the functionality until they found out what Nintendo was doing. They had been researching it and decided to include it last minute, partially due to not having force feedback and to differentiate itself from xbox 360. This is why it was such a shock to those developing PS3 games.

My guess is that most developers are used to having shocks when it comes to hardware that's here to stay for at least 5 years and there's a lot at stake. I'm sure many were shocked about the idea of Sony including a standard HD in every unit. How much of a save bet was Blu-Ray etc?

The PS3 has been in development for many years - I'm sure many of the features they thought should be possible years ago ended up being not feasable - yet other features made their way into the box despite what many would have believed.

Anyway, we can speculate all day about if Sony copied or had this planned all along. The matter of the fact is; we don't know. Lets just leave it at that.
