FWIW X1300 benchmark scores, maybe?

Well it's definitely a good time for those that buy budget products to be excited; Wavey hinted on that kind of performance even before that site came up with it. He also noted of course that NV's counter-offering will be more or less in the same ballpark.

Entirely OT and way more productive IMHO: call to everyone who's interested in investigating higher performance in the SS2 demo; switch to OGL while setting in the sam2.ini ---> gfx_iAPI = 1 ("2" is D3D) and let me know if there's a difference, because I can't seem to find one.

According to reports so far the increase is both quite high on GeForces as on Radeons /end of OT ;)

***edit: kudos to the 3DCenter crowd for making me aware of it.

Dang if this is true well then image how decently the RV530 is gonna preform after all it has supposedly 3 times as many pixels pipes.

If some recent (newer theories) floating around should be true, then you should be counting thrice the ALUs.

Only if the product goes on sale for $60 or so. I'd say that's highly doubtful, as ATI will probably want to keep selling as much of their current stock as possible.
Why did price come into all this :???:

I was only stating that performance is literally doubled from X300 -> X1300.

3 times the pixel pipes or 3 tmu's per pipe?
Neither. Three times the ALUs internal to a fragment processor, which isn't a 'pipe'. Pipe is a swear word from now on!

LOL well that should put a lot of shader power in :)

Maybe it´s like Xenos except for not being unified. Alus in the fragment processors and on the other hand independent TMUs.Thus the pixel processing is boosted.

Yes. I fully expect ATI marketing to use the term "Shader Rate: WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!" for RV530 and R580, in the product specs.

You have been reading Jawed's sig again ;)

Oh, that's way too direct and understandable! And what do you do for the next generation? "Now with 1.5x the WHEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!"

Extreme WHEEEEEEEEEEEEE!

I'm already impressed by these chips. Low end performance is important for all gamers because a bad low end can cause devs to hold back. ie, the gf 4mx or fx5200's impact on use of shaders.

Truly, an artform. An aquired taste no doubt, but nonetheless an art form to be appreciated
No doubt, but this one was clearer than most, and Rys spelled it out for us. So it didn't leave us hanging as much as his one-word-for-two-questions answers. :)

PS: WHEEEEEEEEEEEE! XT PE.
