Final Fantasy XV [XO, PS4, PC]

Doubt the texture resolution is any different, just more detail being resolved thanks to a higher resolution framebuffer.

More vibrant? I assume they are using HDR tv? Otherwise, I don't see how PS4/X1 version could be less vibrant. It is possible that the new build is inherently more vibrant though.

it could be the SSAO (and maybe some other shading/light FX stuff) in Pro making it looks more vibrant (and contrast) than vanilla PS4. Assuming both are running in HDR mode,.

I fully recommend everyone watching Kingsglaive. Solid action film, insane visuals.

the visual kind of inconsistent though. Sometimes it looks so realistic sometimes the characters looks "popped", not blended together with what around them. Same with the animation. The crazy fast animation looks awesome but some close-up nuance looks weird.

because it is so close to realistic, every small weirdness become more noticable?

That's the uncanny valley playing tricks on the brain :)

Enjoyable movie indeed. As long as everybody's zipping around the screen smashing stuff that is. Good thing there's a lot of zipping and smashing, because whenever people start talking in Kingsglaive, the movie instantly stops dead and goes belly up, smelling like a months old drowned body. It's my old anime pet peeve. Too much fucking expository dialog.

As for best looking CGI movie. I think it looks really good, but in many ways, Robert Zemeckis' 10 year old Beowulf still has it beat. There's a nuance to the facial animations in Beowulf that simply isn't quite there in Kingsglaive. I actually watched both movie back-to-back because I was curious.

Beowulf is also well written and engaging all the way through. It's probably gonna remain my favorite animated movie for a good long while.

It seems they put extra effort into the side quest but it's still not clear the side quest will be total bland of skyrim or crazy interesting like witcher (even some side quest feels like main quest!)

These previews are actually getting interested now. I hadnt really liked the combat system in the demo or shown on twitch.

I have a very hard time with ultra realistic graphics and video gamy combat, it just doesn't work for me, everything feels exagerated and breaks immersion on that level...
