Final Fantasy XV [XO, PS4, PC]

the battle is hack and slash. its realtime. you hold button to hack and slash, hold button to evade.

imagine FF XIII but instead of queue command, you do it on-the-fly while holding the button.
Like ffxii a lot of the strategy happens outside of battle. You attack with certain weapons on a contextual basis, but you set which weapon to use for certain roles. So if you are fighting fast enemies it's important to slot a quick swinging sword as your primary attack (what they call your "ravage" weapon). If you are getting mobbed you might switch to a two hander which is slow but has a wide swipe to hit multiple enemies.

Weapons also give you special attacks you activate with triangle. They have long wind ups and are hard to aim so you need to be careful. DUSCAE also offers a look at an activated powered up mode and a summon attack.

It's a pretty fun system and the enemies are tough and active enough for combat to stay exciting.

Technically the demo is pretty rough, though. The sub-1080p resolution results in a lot of aliasing and a general lack of clarity, but the framers problems are worse. Lots of hitching and stuttering.

My sarcasm detector fails me on this one. You are joking, right?
Dead serious, I don't think I can handle the jaggies, blurriness and upscale artifacts for some 50hours of FF regardless how cool it looks at times. Not all is lost tho, the final build might just have everything intact at 1080p/30 at least more likely on the PS4.

900p is okay not ideal if the game is in final version 1080p on PS4,it will be a good news for Xbox One owner. The game will be 900p or 1080p for Xbox One.

Because sub 900p games at 30 fps are not a common case one Xbox One too for the moment...

English and Japanese Audio (and Text) options for both. Which is very much appreciated by me. I'm really hoping they carry that over to full game (apologies to your bandwidth :p).

At some point, the YouTube archive should finish processing and make higher quality versions available.

EDIT

The 720p version now appears to be available on YouTube.

Here's a lil video comparison of the demo

Looks like there are plenty of stuffs and collectibles to do and find in the demo. I'm just a little bit sad that there is less focus on the " magics " in this particular episode in the series. I loved using them in FFVII.
The summons so far looks phenomenal and I like the " old style one strike appearance " instead of having to control them.

first couple of minutes impression

- Audio option TV / Home Cinema only affect "dynamic range". "Cinema" have better dynamic range mixing between environment sound with vocal. I wish they added manual speaker calibration like Ucnharted...
- The game do have directional audio but not for all of things (maybe artistic direction/decision?).
- the game looks beautiful with some post process on TV (smooth motion, a bit dynamic contrast, sharpen).
- the loading is faster when you go back to title and new game again

- I CANT STAND ON TOP OF CARS :( (cars have invisible barrier around them).
- NPC properly "give way" when you walk near them and they are blocking the door.
- This girl sure loooove eating

EDIT:
The map is closed by invisible wall that can be penetrated by NPC cars. I suspect the player also can do a "wall breach" here to explore the blocked areas

yups, you do can go outside of the map :D

basically, you exploit the "hit by car" physics to go through the invisible wall.

EDIT:
guys, did your PS4 roaring like gonna explode while playing this game? Mine does, its the same behavior when i play TLOU R.
