Yay, cards progression system for stats and abilities with the obligatory lootbox random card packs and gold cards etc. As of now, the random card packs you get every X levels and cannot be purchased for real money. Looks like a mix of abilities (cards) you get every level and can upgrade mixed with the random packs.

I still don't think this is my gig but I was very interested in the PVP mechanics and anti-griefing mechanics.

PVP and anti-griefing are part of one complex system. I'd recommend you read a full overview like RPS.
