One little addition to Ben's NV30 summary is "High bandwidth", in addition to the previously discussed "Support for high-speed DDR2 memories".
To me, that sounds like either >128bit RAM, or a significantly enhanced bandwidth-saving architecture. Perhaps "High bandwidth" is merely a product of higher-clocked DDRII SDRAM, but it doesn't seem that way (to me). We shall see.
R300 and NV30 both sound like superb products that I have no intention of purchasing.
