Nice!!! I love the first 2 shots. Nice realtime dynamic lighting and one of the most solid and CG-like character models yet seen!!! 8)
It does look like the Xbox version will have beefier models over the PC one?

Another major FPS to look forward to on the Xbox! I cant wait to see how Perfect Dark, Half Life 2 and Doom 3 will look with the power of Xbox.

Those screens do look pretty hot. I can't imagine playing the game on Xbox though, because of the control.

I'm really looking forward to seeing Perfect Dark Zero. If Rare was able to make Star Fox Adventures on Cube, what will they be able to accomplish with Xbox?

(of course, it'll only run at 15 or 20 fps  )

If DEX2 controls are tweaked and simpified for Xbox, i dont see much problems here. The models look hot hot hot i must say! :p

Unified ligthing model + tons ol' polygons = solid next generation visuals!

Warren is teh man! 8)

What I want to know is, why the aliasing seems so much worse in DX2 than in other games. At least it seems like that way to me, if others disagree.

Take for example the first of the shots posted just above (2 men with the 5 curved pipes on the left side). I just find there to be an excessively extreme amount of aliasing, that isn't evident in other games. I just keep getting the feeling that Ion must just doing something wrong, but what I have no idea. All I can guess is the extreme high contrast nature of the lighting is the problem, but then, some of the non aa shots of Doom don't seem this bad. Then again, even though they both seem to be using an unified stencil buffer based lighting system, Doom IMO looks more realistic.

This is all not to say that I think that DX2 look bad. I'm quite looking forward to it... PC version that is

The PS2 version of the first sold acceptably well enough for the publisher to commission a PS2 version of Dues Ex 2. It was rumored in some Xbox mag that when the lucky developer, who only thought they had an Xbox version to consider, was informed of the PS2 news, they remarked that it'd be like "trying to fit a Genesis game on the (original) Game Boy."

Is the PS2 version still coming? Any information about it?

Yeah, I remember reading in that issue, the same rumor mole was eavesdropping on Sony people on some conference, and heard them saying how they will have to release PS3 in 2003 due to the imminent and threatening release of Xbox Live.

Based upon past statements and rumors, it's not too far-fetched to believe Sony execs. worried over that stuff.

After Dreamcast started picking back up in Jan 1999 in Japan with the sell-out 200,000 copy release of SEGA Rally 2 online, Sony went back into hype mode about their imminent, broadband online network for PS2. At the PS2 unveiling, they talked about their all-encompassing broadband network when asked about their response to the Dreamcast's modem. And then Sony Corp.'s very own president publically stated that the entrance of Microsoft's Xbox as a player in the market might force them to unwillingly accelerate their system release cycle for the next-gen PS3.

Based upon past rumors in all the OXM's I've read it's very safe to say they are some of the biggest BS this world has ever seen.

On the topic - I honestly hope this is NOT how most future games will start to look like. I'd very much like to see more ICOs, PDOs and Fables than unimaginative, all engine-no style looking stuff like this .

Yeah, I agree with you on that one. Sure the game looks very nice, but a bit boring, not so artistic.

Chap, Lazy8s, I think that’s supposed to be “Deus Exâ€￾ (as in “Deus Ex Machinaâ€￾, or “god from the machineâ€￾), not “Dues EXâ€￾, which I’m not quite sure what’s supposed to mean (maybe your ex-dues, as in “dues you have paidâ€￾?) :)

I think it fits the Dues Ex world just fine.... ;)
If this type of graphics was displayed on the PS2, i am sure you will be creaming ur pants.

There must be technical achievements and there must be artist achievements. I find Deus Ex 2 has a good balance of both.

Most Western games are all engine, no style- that's my opinion anyways :(

I would be saying "How the hell they did that bumpmapping and per pixel lighting on PS2" but I would never say the game looks pretty.

Isn't Deus ex 2 engine based on the UT3 engine ,like for splinter cell ?.
It sure looks and feel like the "classic" UT/Ureal tech ...

I am not sure. Splinter Cell used vertex lighting, and this uses per pixel lighting with normal maps like Doom 3. Despite all that, Splinter Cell is a much nicer looking game, IMO.

Neither Doom3 nor Half-Life2 are confirmed Xbox titles. Hell, Half-Life as of yet isn't even an announced product.

And I'll be playing all 3 of these games on my PC, thanks.
