Does this mean 360s CPU is not so good?

can somebody change the title of this thread, please? it's utterly annoying. make it something like 'if your xb360 video playback stutters under heavy load - upgrade your hdd' or somehting.

was the video you downloaded a compressed/super sampled version of the video or an orginal ripp?

could be while your downloading and playing the file, your downloading file hicupped if both are reading and writing to the same drive, causing the timing to be off a bit for a resend signal, since both the writing and reading are both being buffered at the same time might cause overflow.

I have zero skipping on my videos aswell. It would most likely be a HDD problem I would think.

And as for BIA the video the reason it's choppy because the framerate is really bad in that build of the game.

Notice the username...
I was just about to post, "Bets on whether this starts spreading to other forums in the next couple days." Then I read a few more posts and someone links to the GAF posts.

Weird.

The optimistic side of me says that this is just due to heavy usage of the download system and drives are becoming fragmented. The cynical side says this is another viral compaign designed to make the Xbox 360 look bad.

I see studders in nearly every video everywhere so ... it doesnt bother me but i have noticed it on 360 too... the codec maybe?
If you downloaded the movie locally, there should be no stuttering, unless there's a hardware issue, regardless of the codec used.

If you see stuttering while trying to stream movies, it's likely a wireless issue...

I've never had any skipping of HD videos I've downloaded over live...

Heck I can do 4x FF in the player in 360 and it sometimes doesn't skip (2x speed doesn't ever). That's even better than my P4 3.0ghz...

I cant be the only one.
Sure you can, especially if you invented this "problem" yourself, or repeated invented FUD from some other board.

I've never seen anything skip on my 360.
Same here. FPS has always been rock solid when watching HD videos. I've even played heavy sessions of geometry wars while DLing, system doesn't skip a single beat. I say this is bullshit, at least until a poster with an ounce of credibility attached to his name comes along and backs it up. :D

Thanks everybody, that was a very useful and informative thread...
If you wanted to learn more about static and flamebait phenomenons, that is.

The original poster should read the Forum rules, especially the one concerning the sensationalistic thread titles.
