the PPE doesn't have to handhold the SPEs every cycle. Remember, the SPEs can supply themselves and talk to each other and main memory via DMA.

That raises the million dollar question. Just how reliant will the utilization of the SPEs be on the PPE? And to what degree will programers, compilers or the PPE itself dictate this? Cell seems to be an excellent architecture. I just wonder how easy it is going to be to harness all that power.
