He's more of an armchair quarterback. He seems to give the PS3 every benefit of the doubt, which doesn't seem to be a good way of arriving at the truth.
Speaking of other sites, has anyone seen Major ynoS, which appears to be a PS3 fan's rection to Major Nelson?

Taken seriously, I think that Major Ynos crosses the line from advocacy to downright disinformation. He consistently misreports the articles that he links to, sometimes completely inverting the conclusions of the articles.
On the other hand, he does allow people to comment on his articles, and doesn't appear to censor comments that disagree with him. And the word Ynos could be pronounced in a humorous way. So maybe the whole site is satire.
Most of the points raised in that article are bunk/rogue specs, like the 'aggregate bandwidth' figure. Or crazy twisted reasoning like 'PS3 has more float power, but XeCPU has more integer performance which is what counts.' XeCPU isn't a general purpose CPU in the same way PPC or Pentium is; it's not as effecieint at general purpose code. It doesn't have out-of-order for example, and to make the most of it devs are still going to need to code specifically for the hardware. Plus SPE's can crunch as many integers as they can floats.shaderguy said:It's a fine article, and raises some good points. Say what you will, but posts on the cthellis42 are FAR more interesting, humerous, poignant and overall just more efficient than on any other posting engine.Shifty Geezer said:Honestly, anyone believing MS engineer's will provide a balanced, unbiased perspective, is quite frankly, gullible. I'd no more trust Sony to describe the technical aspects to XB360, or nVidia/ATi to accurately describe their competitors hardware, or the Conservatives (Democrats) to give a balanced, objective opinion of Labour (Republican) policy!

Especially since they bring the comically untrue "fair and balanced" phrase of Fox news up top, too.Diesel2 said:From the fact that if you spell 'Ynos', backwards, you get sonY, I think you can take it as satire.
