God, we all need a lesson in sarcasm. Ty, the post above was a pure sarcastic comment. ;)

Err, I totally got that you were making a sarcastic comment when you said,

Im sure it will matter alot what people did so long ago.

So yes, I totally understood you were being sarcastic when you said the above in reference to GWB's past. My comment reflected the fact that you started a topic calling into question what Kerry did a long time ago.

So in essence IF you are trying to excuse what GWB may or may not have done a long time ago, then why did you call into question what Kerry may or may not have done a long time ago?

My next question dealt with what was more important when considering a long time ago; going AWOL or falsely claiming your threw away the medal you earned in protest?

Lastly, I agree with the gist of your statement. That if you bring up a topic, then surely it's 'fair' game. That does NOT preclude, however, that topics not broached by the subject in question first can't be.

I brought that up because he has brought his vietnam record to counter arguments that he is weak in foreign policy. So if he brings it up then its fair game. This reason was posted in my post. ;)

Is there any paper trail that ACTUALLY proves he did not fulfill his duty.

Because kerry thinks his vietnam record is worth talking about about. So he should take the good with the bad. ;)
My next question dealt with what was more important when considering a long time ago; going AWOL or falsely claiming your threw away the medal you earned in protest?
ACTUALLY neither is really important since you really cant prove that bush was awol. One person came forward that he was there, and 2 of bush's direct commanders have died so they cant say what really happened. And kerry was just showing off to the press. People do stupid things when they are really conviced their cause is just.
Lastly, I agree with the gist of your statement. That if you bring up a topic, then surely it's 'fair' game.
thank you. ;)

Which is more relevant when discussing your qualifications to be president.
A)what you might or might not have done 30 years ago.
or
b)the last 3+years of your _PRESIDENCY_.

i pick "b" and:

c) the level of integrity you show when accounting for what you might or might not have done 30 years ago.

both of which make him unfit for office imho. ;)

How has he shown himself unfit based on "the level of integrity you show when accounting for what you might or might not have done 30 years ago."?

i don't expect you to argee with my opinion, but the way i see it he dances around the topic like Clinton and the pot issue.

So if kerry "dances" around a topic, that makes him unfit for office. Because we should apply this standard to all candidates, right? Why is dancing around a subject bad? Did he lie while dancing? ;)

well i'm not really one to say what other people should or should not do, but i think it sure would be nice if more people felt that way.

i dislike such deminer becasue it shows a lack of veracity.

that would be the logical conclusion.

Yes you said this in your second post, not first. Anyhow GWB has mentioned that he served in the guard. So it should be fair game too, right?

This is irrelevant to my first question as I was only speaking hypothetically. My point was basically that you seemed to have two different standards. For Bush you were willing to ignore the past (actually you were chiding those who were interested in it) because it was so long ago. Yet you bring up something about Kerry that perhaps, also happened so long ago. That's all. Nothing about whether or not either charge against either person was true.

;) I was trying to be funny/sarcastic with my first post. I guess I should learn that im not very good. GWB isnt going around all over the place mentioning his guard record. I believe every time he talks about it is because someone asks him about it. I think that is a big difference, you make of it what you will.
