Def Jam 3: Icons

(note that the early demo is only running at 15 FPS, so the game is kinda slow).

The graphics look fantastic (although most were expecting it to look like Fight Night Round 3) and the animations and physics, though unpolished, look superb so far.

A lot of people after watching these videos seem to think that the over-the-top wrestling moves from the last game are going to be axed, and that the jumping background and music mechanic is a complete gimmick (I personally hope you can turn it off). Me, I'm hoping for the best - it doesn't seem to me that they are gonna turn this game into a mere brawler though (even EA couldn't screw up that bad). I'm thinking they did the demo with most of the fight mechanics turned off. It doesn't help that Tsunodo keeps dissing the Aki engine from the last game though...

I'm also hoping you can turn that jumping background/ music enhances your character stuff off, (or that it's only for that particular gas station stage).

Game comes out in March 2007. What do you guys think?

That Kudo guy is almost as big a Sony fan as me.

It brought a tear to my eye listening to what he had to say about the power of PS3 over that other machine.

Good Lord... I don't usually post just to comment about AA in bullshots, cause everyone does it all the time, but really, i think this sets a new standard for how clean these PR shots are. Seriously, they are immaculate. Meh...

The video looked pretty good most of the time. But the combat animation looks very rough still. Especially when doing the grabs and throws.

But the one part that did impress me was how they are blending physics and animation when a character gets thrown really far or blown back because of an explosion. I thought that part looked a lot better than what I have seen so far in other games.

The artstyle is interesting. With there choice of lighting, it looks like a high detailed painting instead of the the more realistic lighting of Fight Night (paticularly the ps3 version of FN:R3).
