Crazy Question

Ok, I'm sure noobs have asked this question like dozens of times, but I'd like to explore it more in depth...

Looking at 3DMark 2005's explination of my Celeron D, it says HyperThreading's status is Available, but Disabled, instead of unavailable...

I know the Celeron D isn't spec'd to have HyperThreading, however I'm wondering if it could be modified to run with it?

It's just a Prescott sliced down to something cheaper, it's not like the original S478 Celeron's, which were based on HT-less Willamette and Northwood cores, this is simply a feature disable.

So I'm wondering, where to start to find a potential mod?

I imagine there's a physical alteration on the chip, given the volume with which Celerons are produced, so no, I don't think there's anything you can do.
