COD2 x360 - multiplayer live.. major oversight

rusty

Regular
just bought COD2 for the 360... and i have to say i'm loving the game (despite pc-ish graphics); which only makes this more annoying, because the game would be so much better with this one simple addition:

private games on live...

i think this is the first live game i have played in which you couldn't make a private game! so far i've managed to hook up with one friend in live through both of us consistently signing into games etc till we find ones with empty slots and then quickly trying to invite the other in before the slots fill up. hardly ideal, and downright impossible if you are trying to get a few of you in. plus when you want a private game just between friends without any riff raff ;) you're sod out of luck.

basically it means the only thing of any value to me is the single player... which is a shame because the live could be so fun. alas i much prefer to play private games with my friends than random live matches...

just thought i'd raise this point... i had no clue it was like this before i bought it (my fault perhaps i admit... maybe i should have checked it out more first)... perhaps it might save others from getting burned on it.

agreed that it's a major oversight but it is well worth it and the random LIVE games are fun as hell.

Also a couple tips:

set up a group chat with your friends (you can talk regardless if/what game your in)

After ONE of you gets in a room instead of you inviting them all they do is watch their buddy list (on the name of the guy designated to join a game) and when that guy enters a game, if there are open spots the buddy list will say "Join in session" they click it and are connected with you.) Yea it sucks but two friends and I do it all the time and it's a great online experience.

how do you set up a group chat? i have only managed to set up a private chat with one person.... how do you invite more people in to that?

i just can't understand the reason for leaving out private games.... surely it can't be that hard if almost every other live game has managed it on the xbox and 360
