cd audio problem!! Please help!

OK, I really don't know where to look for this problem.

I can't seems to be able to play audio cd on my computer. When I played them, they play, but too slow. It's like one second of the music take 2-3 seconds to play. It's look like the sound when you play a vinyl disc backward. I can play wav mp3 anything without problem, as long as it is not an audio cd, it work fine.

And the problem is with both windows media player, and the ATI cd audio application.

Here is my system:

Windows XP Pro
Athlon xp 2700+
512 megs DDR400 corsair cas2
Asus A7n8x nforce 2
ATI 9700Pro AIW 128mgs
80 gig western digital
LG 24/10/40x
LG 16x DVD
Antec True 430W

I use the Nforce2 onboard sound!

Any help would be appreciated.

Thx

Actually I just made another test. I played a cd audio in windows media player and it work fine. Sound is good, speed too, even if I browse the songs and skip some, they still played well.

I then closed media player and open ATI cd player. First song is good, try to skip to the next one, sound becomes low pitched and slow. CLose ATI player, open windows one, sound still low and slow. Open an mp3 in media player, sound still slow and low. Need to reboot to restore.

So looks like the problem have something to do with Ati.

I continue to investigate.

If you have idea, please post!

Thx

Seems like you have problems with the digital audio extraction. Which nForce Drivers (IDE, Audio) do you have installed? Keep in mind that there were problems with the 2.4x versions.
