est. fair market value $16,000 ???

what's that?, maybe $5500 for parts, $750 in Games, and the rest on the custom paint?

They want to get enough from the thing to feed 20,000 people???

and ya gotta love the last para. of the description. your usual Nv PR...
"About NVIDIA
NVIDIA Corporation is a market leader in visual computing technology dedicated to creating products that enhance the interactive experience on consumer blah blah blah..."

Let's not forget the PR stuff.

Don't ya just love Nvidia for being so "charitable"?

The custom paint job is estimated at $500 I think.

The rest goes to:
n addition, the winning bidder will receive five hours of personal "gaming tutorial" by a member of the NVIDIA-sponsored professional PC gaming team, Team3D. Recently, Team3D took second place in the World Cyber Games Championship (WCG) in Seoul, Korea.

I dont wanna be taught the way its meant to be played by a runner-up team. :p

P.S. Dont take this post too seriously :)

The retail cost of the PC could be estimated at $16,000, if standard processors were used instead of the specially selected ultra-high performance parts provided by NVIDIA and AMD.
Sure ..

*Hey, this one shines more, that must be faster*

In an effort to help feed the hungry this holiday season, NVIDIA Corporation, along with Advanced Micro Devices, Falcon Northwest, Logitech, Samsung, and other key partners, have created and built an extraordinarily fast, custom-designed gaming PC to benefit the Second Harvest Food Bank of Santa Clara and San Mateo Counties. The PC features hand-selected, ultra-high performance technology components and is signed by NVIDIA and AMD presidents, Jen-Hsun Huang and Hector Ruiz, respectively.

They must charge alot for their autographs.

Youguys are ridiculously cynical. It is a charity auction sheesh.

If Nvidia were serious about charity, they would simply give the money to good causes instead of using it as a PR/marketing opportunity. It's not like it's more tax deductable if Nvidia put out a big press release blowing their own horns about how wonderful they are.

actually if they really care they would do both .

Stars often give money and then go to fund raisers or sign auto graphs to be bid on in chinese auctions and what not .
