Call of Duty 2 - Interview (sounds amazing)

The animations in CoD2 kind of turned me off and the demo was short (not to mention it was odd not having a health meter!) but it looks like a really great title. If the above are an indication the Xbox 360 version should be at least on par with the PC, if not better.

WWII fans rejoice.

There's HD trailers on teamxbox with lots of in-game footage, at least 6 or 7 minutes between the 3 trailers.

I really like the Health meter thing, it's just like Halo basically, get hit too many times in a row and that's it, dead. BUt instead of giving you a shield icon, they convey it all through a racing hearbeat, blurred/bloody vision, shaky camera...sounds pretty visceral.

Down with the healthpack!

Yup. I posted the link a few posts up.

IMHO it looks a lot better than the original trailer...

At least 2x AA is mandatory, did he say they werent going to use it or are you just judging from the screenshots?

Just from watching the video clips. :)

Well, I like that the end user won't have to have a super computer to run at equivalent settings with that framerate. ;)

Having played the demo on pc, it still seemed to be heavily scripted just like the first COD. Enemies show up in the same places and do the same things. Yeah, you can choose the order of your objectives now, but it doesn't deviate much from the original. Not that this is a terrible thing, it's the intensity of this game which makes it so great, and I think some of that would be lost without the scripting and set-pieces. I like how they got rid of health packs, makes it even more immersive, and the sound is top notch like always.

Like Halo.

Too much damage at once and you die, otherwise you need to take cover, and take a few moments to get your bearing back, and you're basically at full health.

It works perfectly, you can only be hit a few times or your dead, at the same time there is no reliance on fake healthpacks, and no instances where someone with 100% health can take an unrealistic amount of damage.

This should become standard for all FPS games IMO, healthpacks are lame.

It's a bit like Halo. Don't get hit for a while, then you'll be fine.

Kinda like The Getaway right where you stand on walls? But here you don't have to stand on walls. I hope you don't because I hated those damn wall standing moments.:devilish:

You've never even played Halo?? It's about a 3-4 second wait.

Oh ok cool. Does it feel kind of easy though? I mean do you ever die? If so how when your energy comes back so fast?

No, it's not easy, because one wrong move and you're dead. 4 seconds never felt so long when you're trying to avoid one more bullet to the head....

I would just say play Halo on Legendary settings to see how hard/challenging a game can be using this technique. You'll die every 60 seconds.

Knowing that the game is 60FPS is a big plus. I just hope it doesn't give me motion sickness like MoH games.

BTW

Here's a hint, plasma pistol charge combo with BR. It does magic, so you can use that hide and shoot tactic.

When you do have 2 elits in front of you while neddler bullets (which hunt you) fly around you, add a lot of little aliens with big shields more little one, sometime with 1-2 very big ones shooting an alsmost instant kill, and your idea gets vey diferent about the easy part of the system  , althought without this I doubt anyone would finish the game.

Doesn't work at the beginning of the Gravemind level. :devilish:

Ok sounds fun. Nice to know how great games play without healthpacks.
