Breakpoint 2007 farbrausch demo

For me this thing dose nothing other than open up a big empty window with no background that blocks all input except ctrl-alt-del.

Very disappointing.
Peace.

Works (and looks) awesome on my 4.0ghz Prescott + 7900GT 512mb XPSP2 rig at home.

Very cool. It ran "ok" at 640x480 16:10 (something like <10fps) on my Pentium M 1.6Ghz + Geforce Go 6600 + 1GB.

So um....GTA on a 5.25"? :p

I re-ran it at 800 instead of 1200 res and then it worked.. Weird. Not sure if it was coincidence or something else.

Anyway I think my vidcard is happy I ran it at lower res because the framerate was a little chuggy. I have a geforce 6 (don't ask me the lketters and numbers because there's so man ydifferent models and I don't know which ones mine haha) and I guess it's getting a little long in the tooth or something.

It was a nice demo. Very surreal in a way. Looked as if it had a thought-out style they kept to throughout unlike many other demos which are often just a mishmash of graphics and effects..

Very well done overall.
Peace.

ProFX looks amazing, especially some of the procedural texture demos in the U3 engine.

The technology could really take off. I assume it is possible to use procedural texturing alongside conventional methods?

The texture overhead could be reduced by at least 80%... Is that right? ... or am I missing something?
Look at the memory usage when it's running. ;)

I need to give my dev-box a week's holiday to recover from that work out  I can tell my Nv6800+P4-3.06ghz was having trouble as much by the hot air the case was pumping out, let alone the frame rate

Been thinking more and more about getting into some of the DemoScene stuff, pretty much got my exact blend of technological interests! Chatting with one of the guys who organises one of the North American Demo Parties on my recent trip to the MS campus kinda sealed the deal - hijacking a huge plasma TV in the staff canteen to play a demo reel on was a real hit ;)
