"Bouncing" out of threads

Something I've noticed lately that's occurring to me fairly frequently lately is I'm getting "kicked out" of threads, as if I have pressed the back button.

It works like this:

• I'll click on the "Jump to Last Unread Post" button or next page button
• The thread will load, with the page loading first, followed by all related images - no problem there
• As the page finished loading, I'll be pushed back to the page I was at prior - the thread index, the previous page, or even the post on which I just clicked "submit"

I have noticed this occurring in the Console Forum only. I'm assuming it's something to do with XBL gamertags, since they are loaded as images in this forum and not in others.

I have tried this in both Firefox and IE, and have the same problem. I have also tried this on a couple of different PC's, and have the same problem. It's not happening every time I post, but it's enough to make reading a thread fairly difficult.

Any tips (or at least shared experiences!) would be helpful.

There's a joke here waiting to be done, but I can't get over myself to do it since it's way too easy. So easy, in fact, that it could be a trap...!

Now, more seriously, I don't get this problem myself, so for now, I can't be of much help other than saying the usual stuff (try to flush your cache, clear your cookies, try with another browser, etc.)

I believe this only happens in the Console Fora and is related to the Gamercard options enabled on the forum. XBOX.com is getting a lot of traffic these days and is having a hard time keeping up with these types of things. Try disabling the Gamercard viewing and that may improve things; I usually find that on the second attempt the thread sticks. Hopefully MS will increase the capacity of XBOX.com though.
