I've just done a bit of a search for Azalia, which is an audio spec designed by Intel to replace AC97. It looks really nice - support for DVD-Audio, Dolby 5.1, 6.1 and 7.1, etc. However, the only real info I could find on it is here - http://www.intel.com/idf/us/fall2003/presentations/F03USDSIS92_OS.pdf. I am assuming it will be implemented first in the next Intel chipset.
Does anyone know anything else about this new spec? I see Sigmatel are playing a role in it *looks for a reply from RussSchultz*
