G'day folks...
Take a look at the pictured notebook graphics card. The writer is not sure and mentions its connector interface looks very different from nVidia's MXM presentation.

A few review articles from other sites also mention MXM and yet show the same connector as seen from Axiom presentations.

SO..whats the real deal? Is this an MXM or Axiom implementation?

Updated to be a poll.

What Clevo has done, & most likely Dell as well, is take aspects of both Axiom & MXM to fit into their line. It's apparently much cheaper for ODM's to make a module that can fit into their existing line than redesign their line around just one component.

For example, Clevo used a hybrid card to fit both the MR X800 & 6800 Go in the same notebook.

Keep in mind, though, that the Axiom & MXM also have a goal of being swappable/upgradeable; the Dell XPS is fixed, apparently.

So, your poll should have another category: neither/both

Thx KP. Can't seem to be able to update the Poll.

Conceivably a hybrid could be adopted. But why would the website mention MXM?

I would have thought that Dell would be using swappable modules in their assembly. But I haven't seen the guts of the XPS.

Guess we won't know unless someone here is in touch with the manufacturer...

(2) Vivoli will name this, that and the other MXM.
I'm betting he would call it a 'customized MXM solution' even if it was an AXIOM setup.

I still think it looks 90% like the AXIOM pictures ATI gave out. (here and here ) The similarities are striking.
