ARMA 2 Operation Arrowhead

Just how many people are playing this game online ?
I want to buy it but holding back in case I don't get enough co-op games.

Download the demo and you'll find me hosting some time. No need to buy the game :p

I've been having a ball making coop missions. I've made 6 so far. Awesome fun.

The original Armory mode - an interactive library featuring all in-game models - was first introduced in Arma 2.
Building upon this unique game mode,
the Multiplayer Armory enables you to try out all weapons and every single vehicle model from Arma 2
in dynamically generated missions with up to eight friends online or over LAN!

new beta version 1.57.75650 was released with fixes for PMC videoplayback feature and several MP related fixes
(this unfortunately makes it non-compatible for MP with 1.56 retail)

* fixed: Stuttering of the PMC campaign videos on some systems
* improved: New implementation of MP ChangeOwner. Previous owner of object must confirm the change before the new server is chosen.
* Patch: Fixed: Locality issues of objects in MP (mainly updates from nonowner errors). Version raised to 1.57 due to MP incompability.

How has the performance for Arma 2 been for you guys? On an Athlon II x4, 4 GB, and a GTX 460 1 GB, I struggle at the higher settings. And it's not the Athlon II x4, it's hardly working up a sweat in the task manager.

Steam update came at 2.5GB!!!
Wonder how much things were changed to amount to this big update :D

Steam can only deliver entire files for Bohemia's games. So if Bohemia changes 1 byte the entire file has to be sent. There's no smart updating.

This is the prime reason not to buy this game on Steam - particularly as Bohemia's games get patched repeatedly, for years. Almost seems like a ploy to get people to buy from Sprocket instead :p

at least we offer You small retail patches which are universal
plus You can use them on STEAM version (technically and exclude DLCs)

we can't change how STEAM updating works that's up to Valve :)

anyway there is new public OA beta released as well and new beta nix server :)
