Anti-aliasing Without EDRAM in NVidia's PS3 GPU...

Given current eDRAM capacities, I think any IMR would have to be able to spill from eDRAM. Anyway, I'm not expecting 16X even though 3dlabs has provided it for a long time now.

I'm just hoping that someone (anyone!) tries something even mildly exciting in the AA department this coming generation (either in the console or PC space).
 
man I cannot wait to learn of the true fill-rate of Xbox360's VPU/GPU + eDRAM/EDRAM module.

I'm going to assume that is significantly beyond the 4 gigapixels reported in the Xenon System Diagram and Leaked Document.

There's already small portable tech doing 4xAA. Imagine what its big brother will be able to do.

Why would you assume that?

It won't be able to output more than 8 real pixels/clock. Samples/clock fillrate will be higher of course with MSAA
