And now the bad news..........

Puh-lease. Old voting machines is not a conspiracy run by republicans.

Particularly when, as mentioned by the accuser, the old voting machines are more often than not in those distrcts controlled by Democrats

neo-Conservatives have dominated the far-right and pushed everyone over so that traditional moderates are now Leftist guerrillas.

The majority of the population has now become 'Liberal', including the old sensible Republican. So why should an open system like journalism be immune to this shift? After all, these people are not seperate from the societies they part of...

The other reason is because the money-men, your Blacks, Aspers, Scaifes and Murdocks who dominate the massmedia hire right-wing editors and management. It's the Golden Rule. He who has the Gold, makes the rules. For the most part, these yes men prevent investigative journalism, pushed for feel-good/feel-bad 'human interest' stories to replace them.

Ah yes, 60 minutes, 60 minutes II, 48 hrs, dateline, etc all do no investigative journalism. Nor do any newspapers, and Leonard and Bernstein were just yes men.

So, if investigative journalism is not dead in America, why did the BBC break the voter purges in Florida? You don't think other journalists in the USA knew about this?

So the BBC scoops them on one story and that's your evidence? Where was British "investigative journalism" when they ran that ridiculous story about US special forces staging a fake raid for TV cameras to rescue Jessica Lynch using BLANKS on the basis of one uncredible witness. The Washington Post went in there and interviewed dozens of people, looked at bullet holes, talked to firearms specialists, and got the real story. Did the BBC even call up one weapons expert to check if the weapons seen in the video would be capable of firing blanks? Did they use even one ballistics expert on scene to easily prove or disprove the blanks thesis?

Where was British journalism when the story broke about over 50% of military overseas ballots being rejected? Did they bother to look into why the military postal service failed to post mark many of them, therby disenfranchising servicemen? Democrat conspiracy? In one Democratic country, 117 or 147 overseas ballots were rejected.

The voter purges are clear, but intent in not. Never attribute to malice what can easily be attributed to incompetence.

Frontline and NOVA make BBC "investigative journalism" look like tabloid news IMHO. Frontline takes great pains to include all sides in a story, and doesn't use creative editing and tricky interviews to sell a viewpoint.
