Anand has the details about r520,rv530,rv515

But maybe for AA on HDR in general not specifically floating point.
That doesn't make any sense. Adding in HDR with normal integer framebuffers (vs. no HDR) should have absolutely no affect on AA performance. You just want to be careful not to force AA in the control panel, as you may be telling the card to apply AA where it doesn't need to.

Why not, a 590Mhz RV530 will be way faster than a RV515 at 600Mhz. The RV515 is also a simpler design with less transistors so it makes sense that it can clock faster than the RV530.

LOL, omg.
I actually misread the X1300 Pro as X1600 Pro.

Now i´m feeling dumb...

I should´ve pointed it out more clearly (sorry for the confusion ;)):

1600XT -590MHz core
1600Pro - 600MHz core ?!

Ummm, in your original quote it's the X1300Pro with 600Mhz core.

I mean averages in the games I currently play - WoW, BF2, F.E.A.R etc. What lead you to the assumption that I would care about the performance of the G70/R520 on older titles? I'm

Hey all I had was "averages" to mind read with. I'll turn in my Carnak hat.

A: Shish. Boom. Bah.
Q: What is the sound of a sheep exploding.

Sorry for another architecture question so close to the revelation date, but...

Has it been confirmed that X1600 is actually RV530, rather than a quad-disabled R520?

I assume quad disabling is possible on this design, but even that may not be true.

I rather think so. That "3" in the third position, remember?

Yeah, I remember.

But I don't think that 12 "pipes" of RV530 is the same as 3/4 of a R520.

Seems easier to do the quad disable.

I'm hoping to see the RV530, though.

And here I was thinking that dud R520 cores would go into the 12-pipe X1800LE.
