Actually SONY is only at around $43 Billion and IIRC Matsushita is around $60 Billion. They own JVC now. You have to remember that Matsushita makes a lot of stuff not just consumer electronics.

And Sony own Aiwa and they dont just make consumer electronics they also cater for the profetional market too.

Aiwa is a small company compared to JVC even before the Panasonic merger. I could mention all the other Panasonic sub brands too, but the point is that in the end it's still ~ $60 to ~ $43 Billion.

And I wonder if those figures can be backed with links PC-Engine? anyone can say a company is at about X amount and this company is X amount, how do we know the figures arent the other way round?

Edit: It doesnt realy matter anyway, Sony are in the gaming buisiness and matsushita isnt. Show us something that matsushita sells that outsells PS2 or PSone. Are you also forgeting Sony has sony pictures and sony music and even sony TV stations and god knows what else they have.

Um my post was in response to another post on whether or not Sony surpassed Matsushita which was obviously referring to company size. Sony is still a smaller company compared to Matsushita regardless whether or not they sell more consoles

What exactly are you comparing? Assets? Revenues? Taking the data at Fortune500.com which should be fairly sufficient for this comparasment, Sony beats Matsushita in both Assets and Revenues.

I don't think the size of the companies are relevant to this topic though...

For 2001 Matsushita was ahead of Sony though so it was just last year that Sony finally overtook Matsushita.

BTW does anybody here know how much Sony has in debt?
