3D Windows Desktop Today

This is what MS is doing with Longhorn. At least, what they were doing. I've heard rumors they're squashing the 3D desktop interface so they can get the OS out in 2006.

One of my friends tried the latest version and he says it works flawlessly. Sent me some screenshots and a video from his desktop. Much improved apparently.

i worked on somthing similar to this concept. Although we were working on an augmented reality version:

the test bed (where we used the keyboard/mouse to move the desktop around) version did not require the glasses to be worn.

Given what this does, I'd figure at least a 2Ghz processor and 512-1GB of memory.

Looks cool, not sure i'll want to use it and run heavy programs like Maya with it...... Or games....
