360 freezing on start-up?

Anyone else running into this issue after that smartglass update yesterday? It freezes while trying to sign-in (I make it as far as the dashboard background (nothing else on-screen).

It seems related to a network connection; unplugging the ethernet allows it to boot-up normally. I could run network tests (after plugging it back in) fine, but when I tried to go back to the dashboard it froze again, which is odd because it usually just stays disconnected after running the network tests, IIRC.

Clearing cache doesn't change anything.

It was fine last night (well after the update). Not sure what changed. :s

I got the update and didn't notice any issues. I may not have shut my xbox off and on again after the update though. I'll check it out when I get home.

Yeah, I didn't have issues yesterday either (played on and off a couple times). I did a bit of playing a bit past midnight, but not off/on after that.

How would they roll out an update to this if the networking is borked? :p

edit:
Now that I think of it, I believe they check for updates before signing in, so they can still fix it (without resorting to flash drive nonsense). The network tests did run okay, so it has to do with the sign-in process somehow...

Yeah, seems they're aware of it. XD There's a number of folks on their support forums reporting issues too.

... also some GAF members have it too. :p (larger population than here *cough*)

Maybe it's just a problem on their end (something messed up today).

Mine did with a disc in the unit. Upon the automatic restart after downloading, it started to load the game rather than finishing the update. Then it gave an error after trying to exit the game to dashboard and on subsequent boot. Removed the disc, rebooted, and everything completed OK.
