Microsoft Flight Simulator 2024 [XBSX|S, PC, XGP]

Fuck I so much want to see the work I ve done imported into this and see how it looks in game. They are still working on the textures and animations. I m losing patience

I became a pc gamer because of flight simulation and bought every version of ms flight sim the last one I bought was 2004. I stopped buying them because I realised I was doing the exact same thing in every version,
I would take off from my local airport fly over my city and try and find my house. Then I would download the fastest plane I could usually the Lockheed SR71a or the XB70 Valkyrie see how fast I could fly at low level and then see how close I could get to space.
I always wondered why would you choose a civilian sim over a military sim, in a military sim you get to do what you do in a civilian sim, takeoff navigate and land but you also get the added bonus of flying a better performing plane, weapons delivery systems and combat.

Same reason people like something Euro Truck Sim - they are after that more peaceful experience, quite likely listening to some music or a podcast once they're up in the air, and just appreciating the joy of flight and appreciation for the planes and simulation.

That said, MS2024 seems very specifically aimed at people like you who want more, offering all kinds of more goal-orientated and high performance experiences and variety and all that.

But yes, there's a reason that military flight sims tend to be more popular among actual sim enthusiasts.

Only Flight Simulator could Make Flight Simulator look like a sissy last gen game.

Ok this is nuts! It has become literally a simulation of the real world. This is an example where AI and real time information magnifies the scale and interactivity of the world. I am mighty impressed
This game is doing so much.

I swear I said 'holy sh*t' at least 15 times while watching this.

And in such full 3D quality, you can get off the planes after landing and walk with the character!

This game is on another level. And it all runs on current hardware!

Well, yes but also you need some really serious hardware to play it at maximum detail levels; even more so in VR. Still, plenty to see even on mid-tier hardware and fortunately flight simulation doesn't need a ton of FPS...

Well, looks like my work cannot be published yet. After I and a colleague finished the interior modeling of a plane and moved to modeling another, we were initially told they would handle the texturing. They didn't move very far with it after almost a year and want us to handle the texturing too. Not very font of this type of texturing especially with all the indicators and signs that I ll have to reproduce for the cockpit and God knows where else.

Asobo on another level!
They seriously are. They're not just very innovative and ambitious in their tech and goals, they can actually competently pull it off and release a proper finished title with it, unlike CIG/Star Citizen.

And the fact that they can then turnaround and go from a hardcore flight sim to making damn fine 3rd person action/adventure games is just wild.

As I look at the previews, this will not only be a hardcore sim, but also for a wider audience. There are many activities, varied tasks and the system of the map is similar to that of Forza Horizon.

The graphics alone will surely make it a popular game. Simply the best we can see in a video game.

I love the mention of literal Zoo Tycoon animal models having been brought over and imported into FS'24 to properly represent fauna.
