Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [PS5, PC]

Forbidden West is horrible with VRAM. The game runs silky smooth at a locked 60fps at max settings (averaging 70's unlocked) most of the time on my 4070Ti 12GB, then in cut scenes and some select gameplay areas, it will buckle completely, sometimes into the 20's! Turning texture res down from...

But it's possible to have high end experiences on a standalone too via streaming.

Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart [PS5, PC]

I don't think the issue with Dampfs post was the claim that the performance issue on a PCIe3 based PC could be down to the game originating on the consoles HUMA architecture, I was actually going to suggest the same myself and it's a logical conclusion to reach given the game is not VRAM limited...

What are you playing now? [2023]

Couldn't agree more. I'm in constant awe of how this game looks and literally was thinking the same thing to myself earlier this evening (how is something going to look better than this). Obviously there is room for improvement, particularly in geometry density (not that it's lacking in that...

£25 here. Too much for an impulse buy. I was seriously considering it at £15.

Star Wars Outlaws [PS5, XBSX|S, PC]

It looks great and clearly up there with the best of today, but the character modelling leaves quite a lot to be desired next to the likes of Hell Blade 2, Marvel 1942 or even current games like Alan Wake 2 and Horizon FW.

Horizon Forbidden West [PS4, PS5, PC]

I'd agree with this. I'm currently playing CP2077 and my wife is playing H:FW, both maxed out on the same setup, often one after another so the comparisons are pretty direct. I'd say Horizon can be a spectacular looking games in select parts, and character modelling in particular is a high...

    Senua's Saga: Hellblade 2 [XBSX|S, XGP]

Looks amazing, both graphically and gameplay wise. Can't wait to pick it up bu man do I wish I had more time to play all these games!

But it's "more cinematic" according to the developers. 😃 And the cycle starts again.

AMD's FSR 3 upscaling and frame interpolation *spawn

Analysing every other frame in a fast moving sequence should make that pretty straight forward.

What are you playing now? [2023]

It's fine usually. Generally averaging in the 70's or 80's and hardly dropping below 60. It was just this one scene that killed things, but it was only walking scene through a crowd so no big deal.
