    GMA3600 / SGX545 questions

Update: just to update this old thread for what I've found that might be obvious maybe but I didn't know that. Beside the really strange performance of the SGX545 which I don't really well understand why suffer that much even on its own Directx9.0c level titles (even early "simple" DX9 games...

    GMA3600 / SGX545 questions

Hello, I've got a mini-itx old board having the Intel Atom D2500 cpu, 0.32um, 64bit, dual core SSSE3, with DDR3 support. Obviously this nowdays is an old low power 10W cpu but I built a home computer with it and I've to say it wasn't that bad all considered. The soc has a GMA3600 GPU based on...

    Sega Genesis/Megadrive: best games?

Thank you for your answers. Until now the only second hand cheap games I found some complete and some without box / manuals were: -Hard Drivin! -LHX Attack Chopper -Sonic 2 -PGA Tour Golf (first) -some SMS games when I'll find the adapter and soon the SVP powered Virtua Racing game and maybe PGA...

    TI TMS34010 graphic processor info

Hi, I was reading on its Wiki page that this 32bit programmable graphic oriented processor, used also in some arcade systems for old 3D titles, were also oriented to be used in a standalone PC game card or console. I find quiet impressive its capabilities considering it was just late 80s they...

    Doom (2016) Graphics Study

Thank. I ask this cause I've the feeling that beside any newer features implemented in newer games, I don't see much road done into the "realism" goal. As you said much was done in a game like Crysis (PC) that probably would have not needed newer complex architectures or features (?). I always...

    Doom (2016) Graphics Study

Sorry for the simple question but not being an expert with the newer feature set api, do you think the same goal of Doom 2016 could have been done with a Directx 9 level of hw/api? Which really visible effects and corrisponding newer feature, would have been impossible on previous hardwares/api?

Can Doom 2016 be ported to PS360 gen? *ripped & torn*

But if we compare a motorcycle with a car, results will probably be different..:D I'd agree comparing two home console, but with a portable one probably other things were reduced to save power consumption beside having more features that not always will be implemented on games. Maybe the raw...

Can Doom 2016 be ported to PS360 gen? *ripped & torn*

I was asking that cause I'd expect that a mobile ARMv8 based console would theorically maybe still be not close to what the 360 has shown with its latest games beside the feature set of the gpu or the amount of ram. I'd theorically still expect a 80 watt consuming home console to be still more...

Can Doom 2016 be ported to PS360 gen? *ripped & torn*

Ok, I understand this would be more difficult but still the final graphic results would be "better" than the Switch port?

Can Doom 2016 be ported to PS360 gen? *ripped & torn*

But considering what they did with the impressive and still incredible GTA V. ;)

    Sega Genesis/Megadrive: best games?

Hi, I am restoring an old Sega Megadrive II console, and I'd like to know which are in your opinion the best games for graphic, sound and gameplay. Which titles pushed the system to its limit? I know Virtua Racing game having the only SVP processor on board and I already bought it. Thank

Can Doom 2016 be ported to PS360 gen? *ripped & torn*

Could we also think that maybe Doom (regarding the Switch version) could easily run on the X360? I imagine ARMv8 cpu being really powerful for the watt required but looking at screenshots, I was surprised but not that much.

    Sega 32X opinions

:) Interesting. I always preferred Sega consoles back then, starting with the Game Gear and the mentioned Master System. I heard only lately of those NES features but were games with the additional hardware more expensive than the usual games?

    SNES Classic announced

I like the SNES Mini even if I didn't have the SNES back then (I still had the Master System) and I've seen the reviews. After all results are imho very good but still I was expecting some low level asic recreation of the original hardware and not an emulation on a modern ARM cpu so I think I'll...

    Sega 32X opinions

That's imho the best thing of the 32X. I'd expect an expansion that use the Megadrive just as power supply but in this case really both console cpu/vdp can be used. Also the sound can be composed and the idea is interesting!
