XB360 selling like hotcakes in Uk -GAME sold out 'til after Xmas.

^^ HAHA!

Point well made. But in this case, I do not believe MS will be short-shipping at launch. I know for certain they won't be in the US, because my local gaming store has guaranteed being able to fill the 130 preordered premium bundles that they already have, and are still taking preorders for both bundles.

I would be very surprised if MS didn't have a million or more 360's for europe for launch day.

I sure hope MS ships out the 85% Premium packages like they're saying,

Do you remember where this quote came from? Not doubting you but I've read the 85/15 talk on various boards and can't remember where the actual quote orignated from.

GAME stores in sweden do not take preorders for x360 yet because apparantly they don't know how many will be delivered from MS... Therefore they haven't run out yet. :D

Price is the expected €1=SKR10, which is only a rather slight ripoff as I believe the exchange rate for the euro is at SKR9.5-ish something at the moment. This puts standard pack at 2995 and premium at 3995. Still lots cheaper than PS2 debut though, which cost about 5500 as I recall, that was crazy.

The Analyst's expectations from one source is 1 million for US, 700,000 for EU, 200,000 for Japan, or something like that. There's bound to be shortages everywhere.

Actually since Microsft is using 3 different manufacturers/assembly companies now, I think they upped that launch number to 3 million units world wide.

Not only that but its not all on the same day .

It seems like we may get it

Nov 4th North america

Nov 20 something Europe

December 15th or so In japan

So they can really mabye go 1.5 million usa , 1 million europe and 500k japan easily

isn't canada the 51st state ? Where they have to give away health care to get u to move there ?

As I said in another post, the gamestore I go to stated they could not guarantee that all preorders will be met with the announcement of the two different options.

As people have stated already its a first come first serve basis and if all the Premium packages are sold out you will be "allowed" the first option of going to the core package or waiting until they get enough units from MS to fill the preorders. They have not received anything from MS stating the number of Premium or core packages they will be receiving hence no guarantee on preorder.

If MS screws and burns alot of people (especially preorders) not having enough premium packages, you will see alot of people wait for the Sony PS3 (because the next shipment could take weeks to months depending on the size of the location) and show MS preorders are nothing but hype and worthless and furthur dividing its community.

I do agree though it does seem Europe definately got a better deal this gen (as they should the cost for xbox 1 there was insane) but at what cost to the overall launch of MS next gen console? Its a wait and see and I hope MS can deliver.

Reality check...

That's a large assumption based on a rather thin base of speculation you got there.

Is there a risk people won't be able to get their hands on a console at launch? Yes.

Is there a risk preorders might exceed actual supply? Of course.

Is there a risk people will have to wait (a long time) for new deliveries? Definitely.

Is this anything new at launch-time of a console? NO!

I'm SURE this has happened at launch of EVERY major console stretching as far back as at least the SNES or Megadrive and quite possibly before that.

One possible exception might ironically be the original xbox, due to the greedy-ass pricing here in europe at launch...

It's a slightly different scenario though, as the Core console is seen basically as a complete rip-off for anyone who wants the real x360(wireless cotnroller, HDD, component cables etc)

The potential pit-fall is if the consumers can't get the premium version and they feel as if MS is trying to push this percieved rip-off on them just to make a few extra bucks off peripherals.

I've already seen quite a few people afraid MS is going to limit premium bundles and force consumers who want a 360 at launch to get raped on the Peripheral costs. That is something that could definately leave a bad tase in people mouths, word of mouth is a powerful thing as well, you don't want too many pissed off buyers cause they tend to be very vocal.

Hopefull MS ships mostly premium's so this isn't an issue....as long as I can get one i'm happy!

For those that don't get the Premium in-pack bundle, could not an offer be made to grab all the same extras for the same price?

How about those people instead wait another month, save a bit more money and THEN buy the premium pack?

I don't understand why people are still griping about the price. x360 is immense power for a quite low price all things considered. That consoles traditionally haven't been this expensive isn't really relevant, because they haven't been this powerful or capable either.

If people think it's too expensive, then DON'T BUY IT. Just quit whinin' about it all the damn time! :D

Jpr . Who is to say that you will be able to get a ps3 when it finaly launches ?

Seems like next year it will be sony in a tough spot . If they can't fill preorders there will be most likely a cheaper and readly avalible product ready to be snatched up. the xbox 360. This year there is nothing competing against the xbox 360 however and they wont loose sales .
