Monolith just released a trailer for their upcoming game that currently only called as "X" with the logo style and backsound similar with Xenogears (at least for me...)

it allow walk around just like xenoblade or ride a robot like xenogears.

But... it feature Text Chat?
i hope it does not mean it will be another Wii U game that does not support voice chat.

btw while posing this topic, it show Nesh's topic about Xenogears II. http://forum.beyond3d.com/showthread.php?t=26107
Nesh, does you mean Xenosaga II?

i think Xenogears is a single game although in the ending it saying that it is 7th episode or something...

Looks pretty awesome and while the graphics give a star ocean/ff type feel te gameplay seemed to give me more of a monster hunters feel

Looks nice, as for the demonstrated gameplay, it reminded me more of Borderlands than anything else.
Colour me curious.

Reminded me of Monster Hunter.

So it's star ocean + monster hunter + Xenoblade + a whole load of awesomeness ?

that platinum game looks fun.

btw how bug platinum now?
looks like they working on lots of game... 101 WII U, metal gear PS360, bayonetta Wii U

This game is tempting me to buy a WiiU... Something I know I'd regret later, as I don't buy consoles for just one game. Keep bringing it like this Nintendo and you may just see me jump in too ;-)

Pikmin 3 and Monster Hunter (never played one though) were two reasons I got one.
Being able to play simple and entertaining games with my wife was a major reason, and having a different gameplay experience through the gamepad was the second important reason.
(Deviating from topic sorry.)

..

I dont understand why people put up with such crap. Its 2013 FFS, if I wanted to read a good story, I buy a book.

Text chat was acceptable in another decade. Hell, there are MMO's out there with full voice chat on all side quests and main quests throughout the game (SWTOR)

I hate voice chat, I'd turn it off in all games if I could. I can read faster than the person doing the voice acting. And often the voice acting leaves a LOT to be desired and actually detracts from the enjoyment of the game.

What I get out of games these days is, turn on subtitles, skip conversations (when possible) whenever I'm done reading. So I end up up with even more horrible half spoken dialog. Spoken dialog that is distracting while I'm trying to read so I can get on with the game.

I'd be ever so happy if games had an option to disable voice actors just like they have options to enable subtitles. That would make me a very happy camper.

SB

depends on the game?

there NDS turn based strategy game with horrible voice over. Then i just give up playing it on NDS and start playing it on PC using emulator with voice ripped away.

Btw Xenoblade have good voice. but yeah, some of them are annoying and hurt on ear (like the fat robot guy)
