At home that is, it is an unlimited connection (256 Kbps). Costs me Rs 999 = ~ $22 per month (without taxes)I am downloading stuffs like crazy (google earth, just saw my apartment, it is just amazing). I feel like a free bird.

I can now download all those games clip (just downloaded MGS4 TGS trailer :wow:)
Now I should play some online Unreal Tournament, any wanna slug out with me.

Hurrah!

That's too bad ya "only" got 256, but atleast it's an crapload faster than dialup.

I was at my mother-in-law's a couple weeks ago, putting in a new v.92 modem for her after the old one died. Hundred year old farmhouse in the boonies. Brand new modem --24k connections every time.

Which is the long way round to "Hey, congrats on that 256k connection!"

Ahh, I remember when I got my first highspeed connection..... porn intake went through the roof!

After christmas "Bredbandsbolaget" in Sweden will upgrade most customers from 10/10mbit (downstream/upstream) to 100/10mbit, without upping the price :D Price will still be in the $40's. Ain't all bad living in Sweden ;)

Well it's not like you have lots to do outside!! :devilish:

My ISP upped my connection from 2000/512 to 8000/1000 last month.

Don't really notice much difference in my normal use, might drop back to 2000/512 to save money. I think I've seen all the p_rn there is already, not much new to see in the Internet anymore anyway :D

My DL speeds from for example MS update sites were about below 300 with the 2000/512, and now they are about the same, maybe just a little bit more.
Peer to peer isn't any faster, obviously (average 50 if I'm lucky). Trailer downloads etc are about the same 300.

The various ADSL speed tests do show my connection being most of the time 6500/750, sometimes over 7000/800 and other times less than 5000/600, but that should be about normal. So there should not be bottlenecks in my PC, modem or house wiring... must be that few places are capable to give you any better dl speeds, or what?

This reminds me, i still have a completely free 8meg connection at home. Not sure it will ever be disconnected, and i ain't paying for it!

Bulldog are good! (at being clueless) err...

Funny thing is, THEY KNOW ABOUT IT!!!

I called them, i called BT, i called Tony Blair.... Line is still there 18 days after i moved in. I actually WANT the line to be disconnected cause i HATE Bulldog, they're the worst ISP ever in the history of ISPs in the Galaxy.
But they still haven't disconnected it. So, they're clueless, but at least i have broadband at home for free...
