After reading a thread about crap A.I., I started wondering what titles the people on the creating side of video games think have good or even great A.I.
What games do you think have good A.I.?

Halo on legendary, Virtua Fighter 4 (Evo), Metal Gear Solid 2.

Black & White. :devilish: It was good enough to warrant seminar/lecture at MIT, as I recall. After all, if the "pet" wasn't smart enough, that's because the application was running "real" AI algorithms, not "hard-scripted" behaviours. In fact I think because of this, the "pet" performs tasks and behave in ways that aren't scripted at all - that's real AI for you!

Best proof that good AI != fun.

Perfect Dark's highest bot settings are irritatingly good at various battle tactics. Then again, they also cheat... but anyway, they are really smart at high settings.

AI in less than 100 KB...

I never saw much intelligence in the creature, I played the game multiple times and treated the creature in different ways, but he always turned out the same. There was like no way for your creature to not go destructive. Heck, I think my evil creatures were less destructive than my good creatures, I guess they probably got tired of all the carnage I forced on them. But also from everyone I've ever heard talk about the creatures, theirs seemed to turn out the same as well.

Any game on max dificulty.

mmmmmm I would disagree...... Not ANY game at least.... Many games just bump up either speed of reaction, CHEAT, or minor things. They dont suddenly "GET CLEVER". Just faster. That's why it's harder for the gamer, because, being used to slower gameplay mechanics, it takes time to get used to the faster response times of the enemies on high difficulty settings.

If the AI is good, it's good on EASY as much as on HARD settings...

Hey, A.I. wasn't that bad. It wasn't that good, but.. it wasn't that bad either! It was between good and bad!
