Whoa! Katana/Dreamcast Scud Race / SuperGT demo from 1997-98

I freaking LOVED this game, and it looked fantastic back then, well above everything else out at the time at the arcades. But the best thing was the "feel". It felt soooooo good to drive those cars that fast, that easily. I had the same kind of feeling with Burnout2, crashes excluded...
 
what a horrible "chore" you have to do, how do you cope with such an awful task?

sometimes it's all i can do to stop myself from pushing a scewdriver through my eye and puncturing my brain. it's sooooooooooooooooo stressfull.

Great thread! These were early Kumai demos, and this footage has always been really elusive because the demos were only included with the first DC devkits. The trouble of getting those resurrected and installed had kept SuperGT on DC from surfacing much beyond urban legend for too long.

I'm not familiar with FTP, but this site lists having video footage for the Tower of Babel demo, as well as videos of various other Dreamcast rarities like the GUNVALKYRIE movie, Project Berkley and Shenmue Beta, Propeller Arena, and Geist Force.

I still have that 400MB movie, called Shenmue Beta, which I haven't gotten to work because of difficulties with my media player. Not sure if you want it; I could send the CD-R I was given.
 
Hey, shenmue made g4tv's top 10 worst game list. It came in at number 2, and zerowing was number 1, but superman 64 was like number 9.

Come on, only for the "All your base are belong to us", Zerowing deserved to be a good game...

edit:BTW G4 is a US channel and Zerowing never made to the US , AFAIR.

Then why the English translation? Surely no other coutries in the world speak english?

Almost ALL the european games at that time were in "english only". :D
For obvious reasons (Storys/texts were not really important in 99% of the games and, of course, there's too many languages 'round here.)

And yep, it's strange some people say it was published others says it wasn't.

So if someone knows for sure... Feel free to confirm/deny.

Tech TV (before G4) had a little segment (caught it on the zip file so I don't know what show it came from, maybe xplay) telling everyone how great Shemume is and why people should take another look...

Anyone putting Shenmue on a worst games list needs to be shot.
