Which mobile phone/handset do you have?

Sony w800i, like the K750i in nearly every way excep its way better looking and comes with a 512MB memory stick by default (oh and some pretty good earphones too). 2Mpixel camera by default. The USB cable/PC link is awesome. Just drag and drop your mp3s. You can even re-size photos using your PC and save them back directly to the mem stick in the phone (handy if you want to do a batch at once, whilst taking a copy for your hdd).

Thanks Zaphod, but I was asking about the internal "memory type" these phones have. Flash?
Ah, sorry. I misunderstood the question.

AFAIK most newer phones are complex enough to use a three tier system containing a bank of flash ROM, a bank of flash ram, and a bank of faster volatile RAM. For Symbian and Windows Mobile, allowing native third party applications, these are pretty much analogous to a Knoppix CD, disk drive, and system RAM. There’s plenty of detailed information out there for these, and I imagine the closed systems will be similar in organization.
