What's the best FREE video converter for PSP?

I want to convert video files into PSP's MP4 format. What's the best or top choices for free conversions apps?

I`d say the Avivo Video Converter does a nice job, but it`s limited to ATi X1xxx cards(and possibly 2xxx ones), and it doesn`t have a lot of settings available to the user.

XVid4PSP works fine with AVI, but it never seems to manage converting any WMV properly (tried a lot of versions over time) even though it is officially supported. With compatible source files, it works like a charm - every option you could wish for, quick updates to support changes in PSP video formats, nice interface.

I haven't found something for WMV files yet, at least nothing that works with the resolutions Sony unlocked in firmware 3.30 (fullscreen and beyond). Maybe Super will eventually get an update, that one had the least problems with Microsofts dreadfull video container.

Cool thanks, tried 3GP and PSP Video Express and both seem to work well.

SUPER in combination with VirtualDubMod.

Absolutely free and very powerful to use.

Edit DVD Stream with VirtualDubMod, convert picture, add effects (smoothening, cropping, resizing bicubic etc) and then convert them to the right media container using SUPER.

Also works great for SonyEricsson phones as well.

Just out of curiosity: how do you encode videos in full res 480 x 272 with Super? Are you just happy with 320 x 240?

Use, as mentioned above, VirtualDubMod and crop+resize the video to 480x272. As most dvds (except porn ) are widescreen, it should fit the widescreen display nicely.
