What rumour should we start to excite the boards?

It might be just me but I've been finding the forums rather boring as of late. Chances are it's simply because MS and Cube finally brought out some games worth playing or because and the Rare buyout has finally been announced. So I figured why bother waiting for rumours when we can make our own. Here are my suggestions for the day.

  • - M$ about to buy out Square and get Final Fantasy exclusives for the next 10 years.
    - PS2 recalls GTA3, GTA: Vice City, and Devil May Cry[/i] in anticipation of their new strategic alliance with Focus on the Family.
    - Peter Molyneux announces that Project Ego is in reality a gay porn simulation.
    - M$ buys out Teasy and Vince so that they only support Xbox.
    - Nintendo signs partnership with Sesame Street after ceasing to deny the concept of kiddie-cube.
    - Halo 2 is just an elaborate April Fool's Day joke done early.
    - Ben Skywalker and Johnny Awesome are actually the same person.

Any other ideas?

(Bonus points if anyone actually posts these or any other rumours on another forum and then links to the ensuing madness)
 
Well, there was an abundance of nice rumors lately ('real' rumors, I mean). The ones that I remember:

- MGS3 as an Xbox timed exclusive
- Konami to abandon Xbox support in Japan (and as it seems, to scale it down considerably for the rest of the world)
- Sega Rally 3 Online as a timed PS2 exclusive and later playable online against other consoles (how is that going to work with Xbox is beyond me, and gives this rumor a low credibility IMO).
- Next Daytona game as an Xbox timed exclusive and again playable against other consoles online as it gets ported.
 
Rare's best coders [insert names here for credibility] have defected MS-owned Rare for Nintendo's first party dev teams. MS paid $350 million for the brand Rare, which is now worthless.

PS2 Online/ Xbox Live hacked: [make up funny story here].

That'd be great! As long as they offer me like $700,000,000, because I surely have to be worth twice what Rare are worth.

Rumours I've heard lately?

- The end fight in Zelda has SW2000 graphics.

- Konami to take leaf from Capcom's book with Res Evil and make a MGS remake exclusive to GameCube.
 
Cept if I remember, Kojima-san has a rather large axe to grind with Nintendo. Probably on par with Mikami's with Sony :LOL:

It can't be that bad considering he just announced that he's working on a a new GBA game (Kojima that is).
 
Sega dissapointed with sales of their sports games, considers the sale of Visual Concepts to Microsoft.

Microsoft buys Austin based Edge of Reality.

That Teasy and Qroach are actually different personalities within the same person! :eek:

Yeah, I remember hearing that the creator (name slips mind, need coffee) was so distraught at seeing Splinter Cell as the superior product that he almost jumped ship immediately with full exclusivity rights.

How dare you accuse me of that! I have never asked god to save the queen.

Firstly I'm not religious (unless I'm watching a Football match and then I ask god for all sorts of things :)). Secondly I would prefer the queen to go off and die somewhere ;)

Seriously the queen is nothing but a inbred parasite IMO, and I think most of the people around my age and younger in this country would agree with me on that. I have no idea what they think in Canada.

More rumours:

- Mark Cicero to have walk on part in the Sapranos
- Ty is infact a Tasmanian tiger!
 
Worried that the PS 3 won't have enough power to combat Microsoft, in desperation Sony turns to Bit Boys Oy to provide a GPU for the next-gen console. The chips code name is Ahab.

Internally at Microsoft the GPU design for the X-Box 2 starts to be called "Moby Dick".
