I suppose it will be targeted towards the "mainstream" market, together with the Xabre, XP series & R9000.

Hmm. The 3dmark benchmarks seem to indicate that this card reaches about half the performance of Xabre/GF4MX/R9000. (comparing the linked benchmarks with some at Tom's - here ).

Could have been a great budget card 2 years ago.
